A properly functioning garbage disposal is essential for maintaining a clean and efficient kitchen. However, over time, wear and tear can lead to issues that require garbage disposal repair in Brentwood. Whether your disposal is making strange noises, failing to grind food properly, or has completely stopped working, a professional plumber at Mr. Rooter Plumbing can diagnose the problem and restore your system to peak performance.
Jamming: Hard food particles, bones, or non-food items can jam the blades, preventing proper operation.
Clogs: Grease, fibrous foods, or large food scraps can clog the drain, leading to slow drainage or backups.
Leaks: Over time, seals and connections may wear out, causing water to leak under the sink.
Overheating: If the unit overheats, it may shut off automatically, requiring a reset.
Unusual Noises: Rattling, humming, or grinding noises often indicate an internal issue that needs attention.
Failure to Turn On: A disposal that won’t turn on may have an electrical issue or a motor failure.
If you notice any of these issues, it’s important to seek garbage disposal repair in Brentwood as soon as possible to avoid further damage.
Frequent Breakdowns: If your disposal needs constant repairs, replacing it may be more cost-effective.
Old Age: Most garbage disposals last around 8-15 years. If yours is near the end of its lifespan, a replacement may be necessary.
Inefficiency: If your unit struggles to grind food properly, a newer, more powerful model may be a better solution.
Persistent Leaks: If leaks continue even after repairs, a full replacement may be the best option.
Loud or Unusual Noises: Excessive noise may indicate severe internal wear that cannot be fixed with simple repairs.
A professional plumber can assess your disposal and recommend whether garbage disposal repair or garbage disposal replacement is the right choice for your needs.
If you need a brand-new garbage disposal installation in Brentwood, choosing the right unit is crucial. Here are some factors to consider when selecting a new disposal.
Motor Power: Standard models range from 1/3 to 1 horsepower. More power means better grinding capabilities.
Material: Stainless steel components are more durable and resist corrosion.
Noise Levels: Some models feature noise-reduction technology for quieter operation.
Continuous vs. Batch Feed: Continuous feed disposals run as long as the switch is on, while batch feed models require a stopper to operate.
Professional installation ensures that your new unit is correctly set up, preventing leaks, electrical issues, or improper drainage. Hiring a qualified plumber from Mr. Rooter Plumbing for garbage disposal installation in Brentwood guarantees a hassle-free and efficient installation.
While some minor issues like pressing the reset button or clearing small clogs can be handled as a DIY project, most garbage disposal repair tasks should be left to a professional.
Safety: Working with electrical and plumbing components can be dangerous without the right knowledge.
Proper Diagnosis: A plumber can accurately identify the root cause of the problem and prevent future issues.
Long-Term Solutions: DIY repairs may provide temporary relief, but professional service ensures long-lasting results.

Adam did an amazing job helping us get a new shut off valve for our refrigerator and repairing some piping behind it. He was professional, very informed, friendly and helpful. He was very efficient and got the repair done in a timely manner while also doing the job well. We appreciated Adam's service very much!
I'm very impressed with Mr. Rooter. I was smelling a small amount of gas randomly throughout my kitchen area. The office answered my call and said they would put me on the schedule for the same day and someone would call later with a specific time. The office called back a few hours later and said a technician would be there within the hour. The technician they sent was named Ryan and he could not have been any better. Friendly from the moment I opened the door and informative throughout the process. He thoroughly tested the whole area for gas and finally determined the leak was coming from a connection point at the wall. He discussed all of my options and pricing before he did any of the work. In the end, he corrected the leak and gave me further quotes for work we may want to consider in the future. Ryan was not pushy in any way and I agreed with his recommendations during the repair. He also worked until very late in the evening to make sure it was done right. Much appreciated and I will definitely use Mr. Rooter for my future plumbing needs.
Easy to set up same-day service. Our pipes had frozen before and the company that did the pipes had come previously and said there's nothing they can do at the time but that they will gladly take payment for coming over and to call them again next time they freeze. Luckily we did not call the original company again and called Mr. Rooter instead. Brandon came promptly, told us that we have PEX pipe which cannot be heated to thaw but at least will not burst. He pointed out issues with our insulation. There was nothing he could do at the time but we had issues with sewer gas in the basement as well so he diagnosed the issue for us and offered to return to fix it. He did not take any payment from us that day and came back in a couple days to re-do our pipes. He was fast and clean and did a nice job. Would definitely use Mr. Rooter again!
