Do you know what’s in your tap water? While the EPA requires public water systems to adhere to certain safety guidelines, you can still get higher-quality water with a reliable water filtration system. Mr. Rooter Plumbing proudly offers professional water filtration installation in Sewickley, PA. As a locally owned and operated plumbing company, we understand the water quality challenges in the area and the suitable water treatment solutions needed. We’ve been installing and servicing a wide range of water filtration and softening systems for decades. You can trust our team to do an excellent job at a fair price.
Water filtration systems remove impurities, contaminants, and unwanted particles from your water supply. Depending on the type of system, filtration may involve physical barriers, chemical processes, or biological methods. For instance, activated carbon filters trap chlorine, sediment, and volatile organic compounds, while reverse osmosis systems use a semipermeable membrane to remove dissolved solids and heavy metals. UV filters disinfect by neutralizing bacteria and viruses with ultraviolet light. These systems can be installed at the point of use (like under the sink) or at the point of entry to treat all water entering the home. For professional and affordable water filtration installation service in Sewickley, look no further than Mr. Rooter Plumbing.
There are several indicators that may suggest your home’s water is contaminated. These include an unusual taste or odor—like metallic, sulfur, or chlorine smells—cloudy or discolored water, visible particles or sediment, and frequent stains on sinks or laundry. Health symptoms such as dry skin, gastrointestinal issues, or increased sensitivity to water can also be signs. If your plumbing uses old pipes, or if your area is known for poor water quality, it's worth testing your water for lead, bacteria, or chemicals like pesticides. Call the team at Mr. Rooter Plumbing for water quality testing in your home and water filtration installation services.
Activated carbon filters are among the most common and widely used water filtration systems. These filters work by using a bed of activated carbon to remove contaminants through a process called adsorption, where particles stick to the surface of the carbon.
Reverse osmosis systems force water through a semipermeable membrane that filters out a wide range of contaminants. These include lead, arsenic, fluoride, nitrates, sulfates, and even some bacteria and viruses.
UV water purifiers use ultraviolet light to disinfect water by inactivating bacteria, viruses, and other harmful microorganisms. As water flows through a chamber containing a UV bulb, the light penetrates the cells of microbes and damages their DNA, rendering them harmless.
Sediment filters are basic mechanical filters that remove dirt, sand, rust, and other large particles from water. They act as a pre-filter in many multi-stage systems to protect more delicate filters like carbon or RO membranes from clogging.
Ion exchange systems are commonly used to soften hard water by replacing minerals like calcium and magnesium with sodium or potassium ions. This helps prevent scale buildup in pipes and appliances, extends the life of water heaters, and improves soap efficiency. For professional water softener installation in Sewickley, look no further than Mr. Rooter Plumbing.
Whole-house systems are installed at the main water line to filter all the water entering your home. If you’re looking for trusted plumbers offering whole house water filtration system installation in Sewickley, get in touch with the experts at Mr. Rooter Plumbing.

Chris was professional, friendly, and informative. He arrived on time, and was able to diagnose our problem. We discussed our various options, and then Chris proceeded to get the job done. Our plumbing issue is now in better shape than it was when it was first installed as new. We would not hesitate to recommend Chris, and will call him again if the need arises.
I'm very impressed with Mr. Rooter. I was smelling a small amount of gas randomly throughout my kitchen area. The office answered my call and said they would put me on the schedule for the same day and someone would call later with a specific time. The office called back a few hours later and said a technician would be there within the hour. The technician they sent was named Ryan and he could not have been any better. Friendly from the moment I opened the door and informative throughout the process. He thoroughly tested the whole area for gas and finally determined the leak was coming from a connection point at the wall. He discussed all of my options and pricing before he did any of the work. In the end, he corrected the leak and gave me further quotes for work we may want to consider in the future. Ryan was not pushy in any way and I agreed with his recommendations during the repair. He also worked until very late in the evening to make sure it was done right. Much appreciated and I will definitely use Mr. Rooter for my future plumbing needs.
My tech was Marcus ( his name isn’t on your site). He was very professional, personable and has a great work ethic. I was very comfortable with him in my home. He explained all that he did and answered any questions. Very thorough and cleaned up. One would never know that anyone was working here. I would recommend him to anyone.
